Find Your Calling
I grew up working in kitchens. That’s where I found my real calling in life. No, not doughnuts, though I am known for my love of them. It’s my love of process. I would come into the kitchen everyday to see chickens being deboned as if the team had never seen a chicken before. Every bone was a surprise. At 16 that really had an impact on me. I started seeing how we could make things better through process improvements and training. We could really dig in an make every day that little bit better.

The Data Badger?
That’s right – the Data Badger. I was in awe of how many billboards and commercials there were with monikered lawyers. In some states, they are absolutely everywhere. That was certainly the case for the time that I spent in Kentucky. Having gone to law school in Washington, DC, we never had such a thing.
In early 2020, in the first days of the pandemic, I decided that I wasn’t going to let it slip past me. I came up with the Data Badger. It started out as a bit of a satire and certainly tongue in cheek, at least to me. As I planned and hosted two annual online conferences, the name really started to take on a life of its own. Soon I would attend in person conferences and hear somebody yell “Data Badger!” across the hall. As they came closer, I could see them look down at my name tag to see Andrew. Data Badger was clearly taking precedence.
